Sixty-fifth Week in the Field

Hola Everyone!

This week has been such a miracle filled week! We had the opportunity to go to Oxnard for exchanges this week and we saw so progress in the area. It was so wonderful to be able to work with Hermana Reyes and Hermana Winn this week. I could definitely feel their love for the work the whole time we were working in their area.

Nieves is doing well, but he's starting to have a lot of doubts as to why he needs to be baptized again. He lives with a woman that isn't the best influence on him, but he said he's still reading the Book of Mormon. He hasn't been to church again yet, but we were able to bring a member to help in the lesson we had. We're also texting him every other day to give him a specific scripture to read. We think it'll help him have a stronger foundation. We were just a little confused because last week, he told us that he felt like he was being more converted and then it was almost a 180 flip this past week.

Raul is still doing great! We went back to our return appointment and he had read part of the Book of Mormon. He said he loved it and wants to keep reading it. We started reading Alma 34 with him to introduce the Plan of Salvation and he had a lot of really good questions about it. He's so prepared and it's amazing to think that we found him because one of our other investigators wasn't at her return appointment we set.

Naomi is still preparing to be baptized on October 11th and her dad is still preparing to receive the priesthood so that he can baptized her. I'm so grateful that I have the opportunity to work with their family. She has such a strong desire to be baptized and follow the example of Jesus Christ.

Yesterday, we had the chance to visit Sister Ramos. For the past few weeks, we've been struggling a little with actually getting a lesson in, but yesterday we were able to finally teach her the Restoration. It was so powerful and we taught it in a way that was perfect for her. It was so much more in depth than we would normally teach it to investigators, naturally, but the spirit testified so strong of the story of Joseph Smith.
We got to spend a day with Hermana Ah Mu, an hermana that had to go home early for surgery but came back into the mission this week!  She was Hermana Brown's MTC companion, so it was extra special.  I didn't really know her that well before this week, but I love her! She's so sweet!

This week, I've been working on studying the Fourth Missionary talk to help me to stay more focused on the work. Lately, I've been feeling a little overwhelmed that the end is coming, but I'm so grateful that I've been able to come out here and serve the Lord and be changed. The talk said how the difference between the Third and Fourth missionary is that one has charity and the other doesn't. It was really neat to be able to read that especially since we're focusing so much charity these next few transfers. I just really want to be the Fourth Missionary and give everything to the Lord. I don't want to waste any minute.
Thanks for all the love and support!

Con amor,
Hermana Halliday
